Iced coffee, on the other hand, is brewed using hot water to extract the flavor. You start with ground coffee, attach the portafilter to the espresso maker, and then let the machine do the work of extracting the flavor into a cup. If you have a machine, simply brew espresso over ice. If you don't have one (like me!), strong coffee works fine, too.
